Individually crafted to order, this is a modern take on a traditional instrument, with its unique architecture allowing for an extended bass range and a real breadth to the tone, with huge sustain.
With super responsive soundboards, this instrument has a beautiful, even and open response across the fretboard and up and down the strings. Designed as a purpose-built lap instrument, this instrument offers sublime ergonomics and is a joy to handle. It has a near 50/50 weight distribution, a circular soundboard top, and the back soundboard is recessed behind a false back, so the player’s legs can’t inhibit vibration. The back of the neck is both a leg rest and a handle, and adds mass to the headstock. The custom-made steel tailpiece and the bone on brass nut enhance tone and sustain.
